Dr. William Waterhouse

Dr. Waterhouse is a board-certified ophthalmologist.  He founded The Retina Center of Western Colorado after completing his military service in the Front Range.  He performed Colorado’s first macular hole surgery in 1991.  He also pioneered Colorado access to sight-saving technologies including silicone oil, perfluorocarbon heavy liquids and endoscopic retinal repair.

Dr. Waterhouse has taught medical students and residents –in-training.  He instructed at the Tri-Service Ocular Trauma Course in Washington, DC.  He has served in leadership positions at Community Hospital.

He enjoys spending time with his family, travel and stargazing.  Dr. Waterhouse has survived running Pinewood Derby Meets as a BSA Cub Master.

Dr. Jonathan Harder

Dr. Harder is a board certified ophthalmologist, fellowship trained in both surgical and medical treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous. His comprehensive adult retinal care includes treatment of macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal vascular disease, retinal detachment, retinal tears and macular surgery as well as trauma.

Dr. Harder graduated summa cum laude and completed his undergraduate work in only three years. He remained in the top tier of his medical school class and graduated in 2006.

He has been involved in medical mission trips as well as medical research/publications.  He has been practicing at The Retina Center of Western Colorado since 2012.

Dr. Harder enjoys cycling, hiking/camping, woodworking, and exploring the beautiful land we call home.

Dr. C. Kiersten Pollard

Dr. Pollard is a board certified ophthalmologist fellowship-trained in medical and surgical management of diseases of the retina and vitreous. She specializes in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, ocular trauma, complex cataract removal, diabetes, retinal tears or holes, macular surgery, and retinal detachments.

As an ophthalmologist and MIT trained neuroscientist, Dr. Pollard has published research papers and worked in several research laboratories. As an assistant instructor at the University of Texas she enjoyed teaching medical students and ophthalmology residents, but what she really loves is the personal connection of caring for patients, and satisfaction of fixing ocular problems through surgery.

Dr. Pollard was born in Evanston, WY and grew up in Denver, CO. As part of her education and surgical training she has had the opportunity to live in many different places and is very happy to be back in Colorado, and to call Grand Junction home. In her free time, Dr. Pollard enjoys painting, drawing, running, biking, fly-fishing, and skiing.
